rock on!

Hello friends!

I was so caught on to the movie 'Rock on'.. watch it twice (only). Its took me back to my childhood years with so many dreams to paint the sky pink! But what i really 'learnt' was there should be this state of dreamliness forever. A few lines followed..

A few dreams I had
On my diary pad
When I was young
In childhood fun

Does this sound like a nursery rhyme?
It isn’t really, its my childhood prime

I had little secrets
Shhhh- that I shared with best friends
Yes- 1, 2, 3…
So many of them!

I dreamt to be an air hostess
I dreamt to fly
In misty clouds
Away in the sky

I dreamt to be a super model
And walk down the ramp
With fashion and style
Some oomph on tile

I dreamt to be a researcher
Study micro biology
And get a magical cure
For cancer and leprosy

I dreamt to be a painter
Lost in colours
Creating worlds
For minds to endure

I came upon a calling one day
And hung on to the last say
Ran to Sophias' how clever
And enrolled myself to be a Weaver!

Colours, brushes... palettes and yarn
chemistry, design, hisrtory of arts
the loom machine with its musical rhythm
weaving away like magical potions

this was my world.. as finally i triumphed
with gold and bronze.. and tears of joy!
i thanked my parents, i thanked my teacher
dramatic and historical? it certainly was!

back to bay.. after years of struggle
i finally gave birth to 'Weaves Baroque'
i spend my days weaving for the world
and find it joyous to every core

and one day i went to watch this movie
we totally 'rocked on' with friends and me!
i came back home dazzled and dazed
and saw these lines coming out of me

new aspirations lay hidden inside
waiting for that horse to take a ride
i felt like a child.. so full of excitement
learning to write that a b c d.. again!

i learnt life can always be so new.. as all i have to do is always keep its paint fresh, always keep exploring with new colours.. what a pun.. dont i already do that in my physical world! well the same should follow in the inner ;) if you understand what i mean! ... till the very last day i exist!

lazy cookery day

I cooked today after a really long time.
Recipe: Cheesy rice with baked vegetables.
It was kinda experimental, and so fun! I dont like to go by cook book manuals, tho I do get inspired by them, especially the pics of all the yummy dishes ;)

It actually reminded me of my childhood, when one of my fav pastimes would be to marvel at all the desert and cake pictures in tarla dalal books! I especially remember a cake in house shape decorated with wafers, candies and gems. I always thought I would make it when I grow up.. as old as mummy!

Well very soon on one of the family kid's birthday.. am gonna rock it with the cake house!

To the People and PM of India!

I want to write a letter to the Prime Minister of India..

Its been just 2 days since the attack on Mumbai has seized down and I switched on my t.v. today. I wanted to have a glimpse of what can be the immediate effects and remedies reported. All i see is securities along the border and coast being tightened, Maharashtra CM asked to resign and who will replace him, a few video clips of the terror attacks, even Kiran Bedi suggesting all major buildings be checked time upon time.

But.. will this really 'stop' terrorism? I mean India is a huge country, sharing borderlines with many, and a pretty big coastal line. Is it really practical to always be on highest security alert? After 9/11 we all know those terror organizations out there have real smart people! No, am not saying we should not sit on our butts and do nothing about it.

On the contrary, till we dont understand 'how' and 'why' terrorists are born... we can do nothing about it!!! Till you dont know the cause of disease and pull it from its roots.. no matter how strong your immune system is, it will still break through and get you... a disease like terrorism definitely will.

I wonder why isnt this topic ever brought up? Definitely there is a cause, and most likely a more psychological one.

These terror groups would probably have 5% of people creating this for influence, power and money. But 95% are the ones suppressed, frustrated, angry with the world for themselves and their families being tormented over years... reasons could be many... oppressed by their own country, false promises, corruption, etc. We see how the people of Kashmir, north eastern states, borders along Pakistan have suffered over the years. They want security, growth and freedom. Its their right and the government's duty to provide them so.

At an individual level, they are our people, and hence we too are liable to them. We see injustice and stay quiet, thinking its not our job. Well, it is. If the government did not take the right steps, we should have. Just like today we understand and accept that we as citizens of one nation we need to unite together against terrorism. Well we should have done the same for our people.

These are the people, from all over the world, taken in my a few militans, brain washed and transformed against their own people. See with what minds they attack, with no fear of death, to kill till they die. Surely, no normal person will do that.

The issue of terrorism is deeper beyond hyping security systems. To give our children a pro peace world, we need to burn it out from the grass root.
